The Karma of Materialism
Because materially-minded people do not even try to think about what to spiritually-minded people is such a plainly evident truth—that life is allotted to each individual from the invisible divine world, and that it is shared among people—their view on life is so short-sighted as to think it is confined to a physical form. They think that if this form, the physical body, perishes, the life in it perishes as well.
When people give no thought to what they are before their birth or after death, and do not recognize the divine life-energy that is eternally at work within a human being—through his or her subconscious, spiritual, and divine aspects—it is not surprising that they have little reverence or respect for their own life or the lives of others. This is why hurting others for their own benefit, or for the sake of their own groups and organizations, does not bring any pain to their hearts at all.
Since materialists do not recognize that they are spirits branching out from the unlimited source of life, they tend not to feel gratitude for their life or the lives of others, to say nothing of being grateful to God and everything around them. It is a pity for them that they cannot experience the true pleasure that springs from such gratitude, and there is no end to their complaints and their dissatisfaction. Likewise, because they utterly neglect to understand the reason for human life and the true role of humanity, they justify everything to the advantage of their own groups. Carried along by the flow of their karmic thoughts, they chase after their own selfish goals using means fair or foul, regardless of the troubles that other people or other groups might suffer.
The views on world unification and peace held by people who are feckless enough to reject what is divine or mysterious, who have no understanding of what happened when humans first appeared on earth, and who have not resolved the mysteries of a human being’s inner systems, are, to the eyes of divine beings, very shallow and can only drive humanity into even deeper suffering. From my own experience, I can say with certainty that human beings are divine spirits who are working for the realization of the divine blueprint on the planet Earth. Because I have experienced the human existence in the spiritual and subconscious worlds, however ardently those who repudiate divinity and the existence of any human worlds other than the physical one may claim to know the way to world peace and the happiness of humanity, I can firmly declare that they are mistaken.
A way of thinking that rejects what is divine can hold no reverence for life and allows for no exchange of love, which derives from a feeling of oneness with others. This is because true love is itself a manifestation of divinity. The mysterious being—that great, all-inclusive divine life—has apportioned itself into various distinct lives, and works within each individual human spirit. When those spirits, or divisions of God, melt into oneness with one another, the vibration or reverberation that we know as love is produced.
No one can live, even for a moment, without receiving light from his or her divine source—not even materialists or atheists are exempt from this principle.
