Selection - I Heard It Like This: The Wisdom of Masahisa Goi

Numbers 41-51
Page: 2/2

41
Thankfulness is light.

42
If you always try to push through your own opinions, you are headed for unhappiness. First, lend an ear to what others are saying. If you do, they will then listen to what you have to say.

43
Water flows from the world of our original source. That is why I cherish water.

44
People who hide behind their authority, and who oppress the poor and the weak while taking the lion’s share for themselves, are in the most loathsome condition of all.

45
The state of Kuu or ‘Emptiness,’ in which you leave everything up to the universal law, does not mean that you never cry, never feel sad, or remain uninterested in everything. Just like anyone else, you cry, you feel sad, you laugh, and you joke. But at the same time, your heart is always perfectly clear and cloudless.

46
Spiritual faith is not for the purpose of satisfying your desire for reputation or authority. Instead, it is for the purpose of stripping away those kinds of egoistical desires from yourself. In this sense, the path of spiritual faith might be considered painful. But the joy of spiritual faith comes from polishing your character, becoming a better person, and feeling thankful to the universe.

47
If you feel like having a good time, go and see a movie or watch TV, but do not join a religion for the sake of amusement. The purpose of religion is to draw out your inner being—your divinity.

48
Unless you can transcend the physical vibration and stay within it at the same time, you will be unable to do any real work. When people have achieved a spiritual vibration, they are apt to make light of people who have not done so. If you belittle others or make fun of them in this way, it means that you have lost touch with the true divine spirit. Be very careful not to fall into that trap.

49
To stay within light without attaching yourself to light, to live in the physical body without attaching yourself to the physical body—this is how I would like for you to be.

50
One ought to know all about the subconscious, spiritual and divine worlds without being caught up in any of them. At all times, one ought to keep one’s physical self directly connected with the infinite self that exists deep within the universal source.

51
Spirituality does not mean that you say or write fine things. Spirituality must be actually expressed through the body itself. I respect a person who really expresses truth, beauty and harmony in their actions.
